The Commission will collaborate with Member States on developing the electronic service to support ‘citizens initiatives’ (as foreseen by Art. 11 of the Treaty on European Union).

Has the EC with collaboration with the MS developed an electronic service to support citizens initiatives? Yes The European citizens' initiative (ECI) allows one million EU citizens to participate directly in the development of EU policies, by calling on the European Commission to make a legislative proposal. Since 1 April 2012, requests for registration can be made by citizens' committees made up of at least seven EU citizens who are resident in at least seven EU Member States through the Regulation governing European Citizens' Initiatives (ECI).
