In accordance with Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC, Member States will enable citizens to have electronic access to those personal data that are held on them when available electronically and will inform them electronically whenever such data are being processed by automatic means, in a simple and unambiguous manner.

On portal www.latvija.lv citizens can get information on personal data stored by Population Register, access to personal data on social insurance and social security stored by State Social Insurance Agency, data stored by National Health Service, Municipality of Riga, etc. Citizens always have the right to request and receive information in electronic form from those institutions that have not the developed the specific service in the portal www.lativja.lv yet.
