Do you have an Open Data portal? Yes National Open Data Portal: www.data.gov.cy In April 2014, Cyprus launched the Government Open Data Portal, based on the Directive on the re-use of public sector information (PSI Directive). The portal’s aim is to serve as a one-stop-shop for the provision of public sector information and a platform for public sector bodies to publish their data in a user-friendly/ easy to access environment. The portal which currently hosts 160 datasets is expected to host more than 500 datasets by the end of 2016. Among others the portal hosts geographical, demographic, statistical, environmental data, etc.
Are the data contained in such open data portals reusable for commercial and non-commercial purposes? Yes
Do you provide online access to information on government laws and regulations via an open data portal or other means? Yes Laws, Regulations, policies and finance information can be found at the Cyprus Government portal (grouped/categorized per subject) and other governmental sites. Any new and/or amended laws and regulations are also published at the Cyprus Government Gazette, which is issued on a weekly basis and is available online (only in Greek language) since December 2004, through the Government Printing Office website. In addition, access to government laws, regulations can be achieved through the Cyprus Legal Portal (http://www.leginetcy.com/), which is a private portal and provides these kind of information (registration is needed and a fee should be paid). The Cyprus Lawyers Association portal (http://www.cylaw.org) publishes Court Decisions (Supreme Court and District Court), Laws and Regulations and other legal information. Access to this portal is free. Archives are not entirely complete.
Do you provide online access to information on policies? Yes Online access to information on policies can be found at the Cyprus Government portal and other governmental websites. In addition, information related to government's procedures is available through ARIADNI (information such as description, necessary documentation,fees required, relevant legislation, required certificates, service points, etc.).
Do you provide online access to information on government finance? Yes Information on government finance is found at the government webpages. Relevant links to financial information are provided through the Cyprus Portal.
